Polly Jessup presents the opportunity to learn about the social history and fascinating cast of characters that are part of the fabric of her story. During her prolific six-decade career Jessup oversaw many significant commissions — her work persevered through the economic downtowns of the Great Depression and well after the postwar boom—the work will also examine “good taste”, furniture design, and Jessup’s early life, prior to her arrival in Palm Beach.  Archival photographs and ephemera from the collections at the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach, The Society of the Four Arts, The Edsel and Ethel Ford House, and the Detroit Institute of Arts will illustrate the story.
